Systems-thinking builder.

I look at how all the pieces of something fit together, then find the one change that makes the biggest difference. Software, a team of people, or a business deal: it's the same idea every time.

I'm not a jack-of-all-trades. People like that spread themselves thin across everything. I'm the opposite: I'm great at one thing, and I aim it at whatever is in front of me.

That one thing is understanding how a whole system fits together, then spotting the single change that makes it work better. From the outside, it can look like a lot of different jobs. To me, it has always been the same job.

  • > building tech: I design the behind-the-scenes systems that keep software running smoothly, even when a lot of people use it at once.
  • > understanding people: I can read what someone actually wants, then help them get there.
  • > selling and growing: I can show a product to customers, win them over, and help a business grow.
  • > starting new things: I come alive building something brand new. I'm better at starting things than keeping them running.

I'm at my best when things are moving, and I get restless when they stall. The rare part isn't any single skill on this list. It's that I can run both the technical side and the business side of the same project.
